SINGAPORE, 8 October 2024 — Canon today announced the launch of the imageFORCE – a new product line of multifunction printers that builds on our heritage and reputation as one of the market leaders in printing technologies. Designed to meet the ever-evolving business needs in today’s modern workspaces, the new imageFORCE flagship range developed with machine learning-based Artificial Intelligence (AI) analyses the network environment and recommends optimal security settings.

The first device to launch in the range is the imageFORCE C7165 – a colour multifunction printer (MFP) that leverages our unique new exposure technology for excellent printed output, making it suitable for high-quality in-house printing of materials such as brochures, posters, and wider applications.

Inheriting the impeccable quality of Canon’s award-winning imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX series, the new imageFORCE range features:

    AI to Boost Efficiency
Leveraging on the benefits AI can bring to businesses, the new imageFORCE range utilises machine learning for advanced maintenance to boost reliability and work continuity. Data on the device is examined, followed by machine learning to predict the lifespan of parts and pre-empt potential downtime.

Security is also enhanced through machine learning where the Security Environment Estimation Technology analyses the devices’ network environment and recommends optimal security settings on the operation panel. This technology makes it easy to achieve a robust level of device security, even for companies who do not possess in-house security expertise. It is also possible to detect when real-time changes occur to the network, thus notifying the user and minimising security vulnerabilities due to missing settings.

Enhanced Print Quality to Boost Creativity
Canon has developed a unique exposure technology, using organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) as the light source to achieve superior print quality. This greatly enhances the quality of printed materials and increases creative options for businesses, as different types of applications can be produced in-house.

Features that make the imageFORCE C7165 ideal for printing high-quality materials in-house include:

    • New D2 Exposure Technology: Canon’s new technology uses OLED, making its MFP achieves 4,800 dpi resolution imagery, thus producing richer colour prints, improved smoothness, and enhanced text quality. This also enables easy in-house production of high-quality printed materials such as flyers, posters, brochures, and banner of longer length. Additionally, it simplifies the process of producing sales materials such as business cards, postcards, and marketing collaterals, thereby reducing the need for outsourcing.
    • Improved Paper Feeding: The new imageFORCE range includes an air-assisted paper feeding manual tray to help prevent paper adhesion during manual feeding, allowing users to print continuously on coated paper. Air-assisted paper feeding allows for automatic adjustments when there are changes in the environment and paper types. This feature improves the efficiency of printing output on coated paper as it allows up to 50 sheets of 128 g paper to be loaded at once. It also supports larger paper sizes and water-resistant paper, which enables the in-house production of assets such as posters and banners.
    • Supporting Environmental Sustainability: Under the new imageFORCE range, consideration has been made on the impact to the environment at every stage of its lifecycle and production. For example, the new imageFORCE C7165 is built with 30% recycled plastic content.
