Canon FC-1, FC-2 compact personal copiers
Dear customers,
Thank you for using Canon products.
We would like to bring your attention to two compact personal copier models FC-1 and FC-2 manufactured and marketed between 1990 and 1993.
We wish to highlight that a rare phenomenon known as "tracking" can occur on the surface of the circuit board used in these models. "Tracking" is a phenomenon in which dust and humidity can result in the creation of a weak electrical current in an unintended location, resulting in the creation of a conductive carbon path. Under certain circumstances, "tracking" can result in smoke emission or fire within the copier.
Although the possibility of "tracking" is remote, Canon wish to ensure that all Canon FC-1 and FC-2 compact personal copiers customers can continue using your copiers with confidence.
If you own any of these models, Canon will offer free check for any evidence of "tracking" or conditions that could lead to "tracking". Please contact the respective numbers below.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
