Canon’s PowerShot V10 Vlog Camera Honoured with Silver Award at the International Design Excellence Awards
SINGAPORE, 20 September 2024 — Canon Inc. announced on 13 September 2024 that the company's PowerShot V10 Vlog camera has been recognised with the Silver Award at the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) 2024 hosted by the Industrial Designers Society of America.
Considered one of the most preeminent international design award competitions, the International Design Excellence Awards, launched in 1980, aim to foster understanding of the importance of design excellence to the quality of life and the economy among businesses and the public. Products are reviewed based on not only their functions and aesthetic quality, but also such factors as level of innovativeness as well as benefits to users and to society as a whole. Each year, the awards program recognises the best product designs from a wide range of sectors, including industrial products, consumer electronics, and household goods, along with vehicles, sports items, and furnishings, in addition to aspects such as design strategy and branding.
The PowerShot V10 is a vlog camera that features a 1″ CMOS sensor and large-diameter microphone for achieving high image and audio quality in a compact body which can easily be stored in a small bag. It employs a vertical design suitable for shooting video easily with just one hand and an easy-to-understand and simple UI (user interface) with limited display information, making it easy for even first-time camera users to enjoy full-fledged video shooting. In addition to handheld shooting, the camera is equipped with an internal stand that can be used to adjust the camera angle, thereby allowing users to set the device down and shoot from multiple angles without having to use a tripod, etc.
The PowerShot V10 has garnered high praise for its design, having received the Good Design Award 2023 in Japan as well as the iF Design Award and Red Dot Design Award, which are both as internationally prestigious as the International Design Excellence Award.
